It's the mission of Henry-William Funeral Services and Cremation to facilitate meaningful ways for families to celebrate the memories of their loved ones and grieve their loss. We are committed to providing information, options, and guidance with the highest level of competence, courtesy, and compassion. We provide respectful and affordable funerals, cremations, and memorial services in a comfortable environment, always striving to exceed the expectations of each family.

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose any items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff and Overhead $ 1695.00

Our services include:

Conducting the arrangement conference; planning the funeral; consulting with family and clergy; sheltering remains; preparing and filing of necessary notices; obtaining necessary authorizations and permits; coordinating with the cemetery, crematory, or other third parties.

This fee for our basic services & overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for packages, direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains).

Embalming $ 895.00

Embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

Washing and disinfecting (when not embalmed) $ 350.00

Forwarding of Remains to another Funeral Home $3,295.00

Our charges include: basic services of funeral director and staff; removal of remains, minimum shipping container preparation of remains including embalming when required by law, and local transportation to the airport. *This does not include airfare, death certificates, and filing fees if required.

Receiving Remains from another Funeral Home $2,995.00

Our charge includes: basic services of funeral director and staff; shelter of remains; transportation of remains to funeral home from airport or train station and use of hearses for transportation of the remains to cemetery or crematory. *Does not include air or rail charges embalming, visitation rites, or ceremonies. 

*ceremony and embalming not included additional fees applied for standard services and or services with cremation.

Direct Cremation $1860.00 - $2110.00

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are made of corrugated cardboard and wood. Basic services of funeral director and staff, removal of remains from place of death to funeral home, transportation of remains to/from the crematory, cremation fee (up to 300 lbs). A fee of $75.00 (DC deaths) and $100.00 (VA deaths) will be added to secure the medical examiner’s approval for cremation.

Direct Cremation with an alternative container provided by the purchaser $1860.00

Direct Cremation with a corrugated cardboard container provided by the funeral home $2110.00

Alternative Container $250.00

An “alternative container” is an unfinished wood box or other non-metal receptacle or enclosure, without ornamentation or a fixed interior lining, which is designed for the encasement of human remains. It is made of fiberboard, pressed wood, composition materials, or like materials, with or without an outside covering.

NOTE: DEATH CERTIFICATE. If the death certificate must be retrieved a second time, there will be a fee accessed not to exceed $75.00

Reserved No Parking Sign Rules If NO Parking Signs are required at the church or residence in the District of Columbia, there is a fee of $55.00 (up to 8 to 10 signs) added to your charges. 1. Signs prohibiting and reserving parking shall be posted 24 hrs. in advance. 2. Signs are not to be posted using adhesives that prevent their complete removal from fixtures. 3. Signs cannot be posted on any tree or public space 4. A fine of $25.00 per day, per sign, in addition to any removal cost may be imposed to the District Department of Transportation. 5. Any person who posts an unauthorized sign or removes an authorized sign is subject to a fine of $100.00 per day for each day an unauthorized sign remains installed or removed during its authorized posting plus DDOT’s costs for removing the unlawful sign or reissuing an authorized sign. 6. Any person vandalizing or defacing a sign will be subject to a civil fine of $100.00 for the 1st violation, $200.00 for the 2nd violation and $400.00 for the 3rd subsequent violations.

Outer Burial Container Price List

In most areas of the country, state, or local law does not require that you buy a container to surround the casket in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that you have such a container so that the grave will not sink in. Either a grave liner or a burial vault will satisfy these requirements.
